For Employees: Guidelines Regarding Time Off for COVID Vaccine
In line with New York State guidelines, full-time Brooklyn College employees will receive time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccination if the vaccination appointment is scheduled during their work day. Up to four hours of excused leave per injection up to a total of eight hours for those who receive the two-dose vaccination will be granted. The time will not be charged against other leave the employee has earned or accrued. Appropriate documentation of both appointments will be required. Employees should advise their supervisor of the time off in advance. In order for the time to be credited correctly, employees should indicate “VACC” in other leave and indicate four hours on their timesheet.
New York State COVID Leave
Leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (PDF) expired on September 30, 2021.
Employees who are subject to a mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19 are provided with up to 14 days (10 working days) of paid sick leave at their regular rate of pay with no charge to their accruals. Employees who are able to work remotely are not eligible for this benefit.
